February Favourites!

I'd just like to start this post by saying-
Ahhhhh how quick is this year going by?! Before we know it, we will be buying tinsel and eating turkey!

In February, I bought quite a lot of things. I'm usually pretty good at putting money aside and saving, but this month I've thought "why not?" a little too often- but hey, it means I have more things to share with you lovely lot!
So, these are some of the things I've been loving recently...

This basket is now going to make an appearance in all of my monthly favorites since a few of you admired the presentation of my January favorites : D

Okay, so first up is this beautiful shower gel which I reviewed here if you're interested. It costs £3.00 for 500ml from Tesco and I love it!

Next is this phone case which is also from Tesco. I was surprised that they still stock phone cases for an iPhone 4s and thought it was so sweet- it's much more sparkly and shiny in real life. Also, I couldn't show a picture of it attached to phone since I used my phone to take the pictures (there was a swift moment of confusion whilst I questioned how I could photograph this, but shhh don't tell anyone)

This sleek blusher which will be included in a haul and mini review soon. It is called flamingo and gives a lovely flush of colour to the cheeks.

This mascara is my next favorite on the list, I will be doing a review on it in the near future.
I've tried A LOT of mascaras in my time and can honestly say this is my favorite by far. It retails at £6.99 from boots.

I have had this nail polish a while but happen to have used it a lot this month, it is by Barry M and is called 'gold dust' it is a clear polish with gold strand glitter. I have been wearing it over various other nail varnishes and having fun making different colour variations!

Now this one is a unexpected favorite since I picked it up on a whim, I was wanting a face scrub and was hoping to pick one up from superdrug, however, I forgot and only remembered whilst in poundland when I saw this. The packaging reminded me of soap and glory- super girly and cute. It has a fruity, peppy scent which does actually stay on your skin for a while. I wouldn't say this is the most abrasive scrub, in fact the 'scrubbing' particles are pretty sparse, but this is why I love it. I can use this everyday and it's not too harsh, but still keeps my skin polished. I wouldn't usually have thought of trying this but decided I had to give it a whirl for £1 and I'm glad I did do!

And finally in my February favourites, is this floral bun crown. I am absolutely loving these at the moment since they allow you to do the laziest hairstyle and make it appear like you've put time and thought into your hair- I work in a hairdressers on a Saturday and study hairdressing at college during the week so these always help on those days when you really can't be bothered but know you have to do something to look somewhat presentable!

So, those are my February favourites. Have you got any current faves or even written a blog post about them? Let me know in the comments below if you like : )

P.s I have had a few people follow my blog recently and I just want to say thank you so much to each and every one of you who have done, I'm so grateful to have people reading this little blog xx

Tesco Treaclemoon Bath and Shower Gel Review

Spoiler alert- I love it!

I got this shower gel from Tesco, it was £3.00 for 500ml- I think it will last a long time as a little goes a long way. The bottle reminds me of philosophy shower gels and on the front, there is a sweet little passage about dreams and candy stores. The liquid is a blossom pink and the scent is of course marshmallow (toasted marshmallow to be precise) it is very sweet and if you are a fan of snow fairy by Lush, you will love this!

I read back of the bottle to find out about the ingredients, and I was impressed to read that this shower gel is Vegetarian and Vegan friendly, Not tested on animals and also Paraben free. It defiantly ticks ll the boxes for me  : )

The shower gel lathers up really easily and makes your skin feel silky smooth, also your bathroom will smell ah-mae-zing! This can also be used as a bubble bath/ bath soak, I'm yet to try this out as I'm still fully stocked on Lush bubble bars from Christmas but I look forward to giving it a whirl.

All in all, I think this is a new favorite of mine and I'm very tempted to try out some of the other scents such as 'warm cinnamon nights' and 'dusted cocoa heaven' don't they have such pretty names?!!

Have you tried any of these little bottles of joy yet?

My Everyday Jewellery

I think everyone has their favourite items of jewellery, the pieces that go with everything and are delicate enough for everyday life. I keep my 'go to' jewellery pieces on this little bird jewellery holder on my dressing table.

♥  Wishbone ring- technically, this one does not stay on my jewellery holder, I just leave it on all the time as it's so comfy and fits perfectly. My mum gave me this a few years ago for no reason and I love it, it is also subtle enough to wear for college and work.

♥  This rose gold (not real) bracelet is from next. Again, this is delicate, lightweight and comfortable and I find it goes with any outfit whilst adding a little bit of colour to my wrist.

♥  I generally gravitate towards studs for day wear and these rose gold (I think there is a theme developing here :P) owl earrings are my favourites, although if I was going out somewhere special I would choose the silver dangle-y hearts.

♥  And finally, the little silver cuff bangle. It is super lightweight and comfy and one of the hearts is encrusted with little gems. I've had this for so many years now and can't even remember where I got it from but it's still going strong and is probably my favourite piece of jewellery.

There we have it, that is my everyday jewellery.
I got the idea for this post from the lovely Fleur from Fleur Danielle after I read this brilliant post about inexpensive blog posts to write when you are strapped for cash.

I hope you enjoyed this little post,

Primark Haul February 2015!

On Tuesday, my mum and I went shopping and we popped into Primark, I only wanted some coat hangers but ya know how it is, before I knew it, I had a wide array of things that I didn't need but felt I needed to buy :P This is what I got...

I wasn't blown away by the clothes this time so I mostly got accessories and 'bits and bobs'

Up first is these pyjamas. I saw them and thought they were cute, then I saw the price and had to get them, they were £3.00 down from £5.00 whoooo! They feel soft and lightweight so will be super comfy!

Then I picked up this floral hair bando which was £1.00 It has blush coloured rosebuds with little pearl centres and I think it will be a nice accessory to wear in the spring time.

These bracelets which were £2- I just thought they were sweet so picked them up!
I went to the homeware section and to be honest, I wasn't really blown away with the selection, but then I spotted this cute little candle. As you can imagine it smells really sweet and actually is just like coconut and vanilla put together. It has only been in my room for an hour and I've not lit it yet and when I walk in I can instantly smell it- for such a little candle it's pretty powerful. This was 80p

Then I got these coat hangers- which is what I originally went in for. They are super flat (which means I can fit more clothes in my wardrobe- always a bonus!) and they feel like they are made from felt which means that my dresses and tops don't slip off like they do with the standard plastic ones. I already had a load of these and just needed some more. These were £3.50 for a pack of 10.

I wanted a new foundation brush and thought I'd give this a try, it was £1.50 When I got it home, I realised it also a concealer brush on the other side- a nice little extra : ) The bristles are super soft and it feels pretty well made.

I also picked up this pack of beaded bracelets for £1

They had quite a few floral bun rings in Primark I picked up this Blue/Grey one as I think it is very fitting for winter.

Back in December I was getting tired of all the rain and cold weather here in England and decided to go onto boohoo and do a bit of retail therapy. I got a white crochet sundress in the sale and had visions of it being 30 degrees out and walking around all cool in my floaty white dress (I'm aware I sound slightly crazy). I haven't worn it yet- with it still being winter. I saw this headband and thought it would go perfectly with the dress so now I'm super excited for spring/ summer so I can wear them together! This was £1.50

Then when I was queuing to pay, there was a selection of phone cases which were all reduced to £1 and despite me already having 3 phone cases (and obviously only one phone) I decided to get this blue one which has birds and leaves on it.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post,

♪ These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things

I'm not particularly materialistic and often find that there are more important things in life than actual possessions- however, I do also appreciate cute things and thought I would share with you some of my favorite items.
This little owl pen holder that I got from Dunelm Mill a few months back, (I think he's supposed to be a toothbrush holder to be honest) he adds a bit of 'cute' to my desk whilst keeping it tidy and free of clutter.
I have been loving these earrings of late, they stay on the jewellery holder which is on my dressing table and I have found myself choosing them a lot. The pastel colours remind me of spring which is just around the corner!
This cute notebook which sits on my desk. I love the floral print as it matches a few things in my room (like the rose fairy lights in the background)
I have a quite a few of these love hearts placed around my room as I think they are a super easy and inexpensive way to decorate anything. This one is on my wardrobe door handle, I have one on my window handle, door and dressing table.
And finally these bow detail shoes. They do look better in person than in the picture and are more of a nude colour. I got them from boohoo a few months ago but haven't got much wear out of them- with it being winter and all but I can't wait to start wearing once the sunshine comes out : )

So I hope you found this little random post somewhat interesting and I will be back on Thursday with a 'what's in my makeup bag' post. See you then!

DIY 2 Ingredient Beauty Products!

Making things from scratch can be fun and a great way to save some pennies. I made all 4 of these beauty products in one hour and none of the ingredients are crazy or exotic :P
Face mask    Hair mask  ♥  Lip Scrub  ♥  Body scrub

Lip scrub

♥ Vaseline or Lip balm of your choice
♥  Sugar

1 part Vaseline/ lip balm, 2 parts sugar, Place the Vaseline/ Lip balm in a cup, add the sugar, stir and place the mixture in a container and that's it! The lip balm I used was the
'Nivea Lip Tin Raspberry' it is super buttery and is this lovely blush colour.

 Hair mask

I have already done a blog post here about this hair mask. It is so easy to make and effective I couldn't leave it out!

♥ One banana
♥  3-5 tablespoons of coconut oil (depending on your hair length/density)

Chop up and mash (I just use a fork) the banana, then melt the coconut oil in the microwave for 20 seconds- (of course make sure you're careful, as it can get hot x) mix together and apply to the mid lengths and ends of your hair, I don't put this on my roots as I find it can make my scalp greasy leave for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off to be left with shiny, soft hair. This mask also temporarily seals split ends, making you hair look healthier and tide you over to your next hair appointment.

Face Mask

2 teaspoons of olive oil
 ♥ 1 mashed Banana

This doesn't look too great I know, but it will work wonders for your skin and all you have to do is mix the 2 ingredients together, apply to a clean, makeup-free face. Leave for 15 minuted and then rinse off to be left with soft glowing skin!

Body Scrub

Body lotion of your choice
♥ Sugar

This one is super simple, just mix the 2 ingredients together. I made mine 1 part lotion 2 parts sugar but this is also flexible. As you can see, I added a bow to the container to make it look cute.

It is best to use the banana products straight away as they don't contain any preservatives and will go off if left in the container for a while.

There we have it! If you wanted you could make all 4 of these and have a pamper day/ night. I hope you enjoyed this kind of post. If you tried any of these then let me know in the comments below : )

Lush Storage

I love Lush bath bombs so much that I feel it is a shame to have them hidden away in a drawer, they just look too cute for that.

Here is how I store my Lush things...

First, you will need a vase
(I got mine from Tesco and it cost £5.00)

Decorate the vase with ribbon, or fabric. I chose this hair bobble as it is easy to shape and it matches my bedroom.

Add a handful of sequins, beads or glitter- whichever takes your fancy!

Then place all your favorite bath bombs/ bubble bars and you're done.

Having your bath bombs stored this way means you can appreciate the smell of Lush even when you're not in the bath :D

Easy Valentines DIY Decorations!

I love to decorate my room for any holiday or season whether it be Christmas, Easter, Spring, Summer etc but I find Valentines day decor suits my room the best- with all the hearts and pink and white pastel colours. So this is how I decorated my room on a budget with limited artistic skills and Pinterest by my side...

Jar Candle Holders

I used a mason jar for this but you could use any jar even food jars- they're free! I cut a paper doily in half and stuck it to the jar, added a ribbon around the top and placed a battery powered candle in the jar. This could be done with different size jars and different colour ribbons to add variation.

Super Easy Heart Link

This is just like making paper chains but you use 2 strips of paper and staple them into a heart shape instead. Colour and length is customizable and all you need is some paper and a stapler.

Salt Dough 'Baubles'

Just like the Christmas craft, you could make baubles for valentines day! Make several, attach to some cotton and you have a bunting or simply hang on drawer handles and doors.
All you need is:

 1/2 cup cornstarch,
 1 cup baking soda,
 3/4 cup water.
Place the ingredients into a pan on low heat until the mixture resembles play dough, then roll out and cut to whatever shape you like. Emboss patterns into the dough or add glitter/ sequins. Allow to dry and you're done!

White Heart Bunting
This one requires cotton and paper/ card. I think you could really go to town with the decoration of the hearts or just keep them simple and cute like these.

These decorations took me just a few hours to make and cost very little money and now, my room looks soooo much more- I want to say 'festive' but does that only refer to Christmas things? Anyway, ya know what I mean :P
